This article is a good example of why, in Christian morals, envy like all sins is a result of the cardinal sin, pride. You envy people your age because, in your mind, you are the best, #1, the most important and therefore it is deeply unfair that *they*, not *you*, were favored by fortune. To paraphrase Gilbert and Sullivan, if you were fortune, which you're not, you would have had the better lot.
